The Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum steel used in the clutch hub provides outstanding mechanical strength and durability. What does this mean in practice?
Typically, clutch hubs subjected to centrifugal force and spring load tend to deform over time. But with a high-strength alloy steel hub, this issue is eliminated.
To handle high power levels while keeping the lever effort manageable, we opted for a 4-disc system instead of the original 3-disc setup. This increases torque transmission without requiring excessively stiff springs.
While 4-disc kits usually suffer from slight clutch drag when stationary, Malossi’s Vespa Smallframe Clutch has been specifically designed to eliminate even this minor inconvenience.
One of the standout features is the Smalley-type retaining ring, a high-tech spiral system widely used in military and aerospace applications. Its uniform internal microstructure ensures a perfect load distribution, eliminating cracks, burrs, and imperfections.
