A wet Miscela Day, but a lucky one too

What happened on Sunday, April 13th, at Modena Circuit

Ok, so it rained at the Miscela Day on 13th April. Not too much, just enough to make sure there was a steady flow of Malossers coming and going all day to and from the Autodromo di Modena.

Malossers of all ages, with friends or parents, teens with their peers, fathers and sons, entire families, and the Trophy races on the track. We were there to welcome them, so happy to be in such good company once again, along with a display of our most iconic and Malossi-fied vehicles.

Couldn’t you make it? Here’s what you missed

If you were one of those who got scared off by a few drops of rain, no worries, we still consider you one of us. So, here we are, ready to take you with us, with only a few days’ delay.

This year, the day got off to a great start and was opened by Ivan Giussani, visibly moved by the Malossi Racing Academy competitions (though, to be honest, he didn’t need to worry since he came second). He passed a bit of performance anxiety onto us too, so we handed the mic over to Elf, the official MRA sponsor and racing fuel supplier for our aspiring riders. It was a good chance to revisit the reason why ‘not all fuel is the same’ let alone a two-stroke mix.

Meanwhile, in the paddocks, the Pit-Walk was in full swing, led by the world’s top expert on the Trofei Malossi, Emanuela Macrì.
At the Miscela Village, we didn’t hear a peep out of Andrea Guzzon, as with three vehicles to cope with in the Trofei Malossi, Guzz was totally tied up in the pits.

You’d never expect us to say this, but it’s true: the morning at the Miscela Village went by pretty calmly, between a surprise drive-by from the world’s lowest Panda (yes, we meant the car) driven by the Carmagheddon crew, catapulting a flurry of gadget giveaways from the stage. Until…

They showed up

Luca Soatin, aka Soat – a Rimini-born stunt performer and customiser– wowed us with his motorbike stunts, first solo, then alongside Paky and Devais. We couldn’t help but wonder how many times he must’ve fallen while practicing those tricks, and we decided it’s probably best not to know. After all, what really matters is getting back up, dusting yourself off and trying all over again. Luca is living proof of this: when it happens, incredible things can take place.

You remember Henry Favre joined the Dakar this year, don’t you? We even made a special T-shirt for him and he was interviewed by Elisa Mazzucchelli. He told us he’ll be back on the racing track next year, this time in a parish minivan. We’re rooting for him and his team, which, by the way, might have a new member (Mazzu threw her name into the ring, let’s see how that plays out).

Henry also brought along his now-legendary Pajero 751, the one that carried him through the dunes. We had some fun dismounting and remounting a wheel using Milwaukee tools – yep, another proud sponsor of the Malossi Racing Academy – while Henry shared his philosophy on fixing things, especially scooters and mopeds.
Someone stripped a thread, but hey, we’re not in the desert anymore, so that’s no big deal.

In the afternoon, Henry took the spotlight once again, challenging our very own Paky and Dev to a head-to-head round of ‘Now go and take it all apart’. After the match, they joined Ivan Giussani for a recap of the day’s races.

Right after that, it was time for Nisa Selle and their display of stunning seats, drawing plenty of attention, just like the new custom-made ones designed especially for the MRA Dragsters.

And in the blink of an eye, it was time for dessert: the Carmagheddon crew revealed their next adventure. To cut a long story short, the influencers will set off from Calderara di Reno(Bologna) on mopeds on Sunday, 29th June, aiming to reach the Valle dei Templi Racetrack in Racalmuto, Agrigento, just in time for the Miscela Day on Sunday, 6th July. It’ll be a road trip across Italy in legs and anyone who wants to, can meet up with them or even join in the ride.

All day long, the MotoTrainer, Dyno Bench, and the Malossi Shop were running full throttle  by then, so they need no introduction.

At the Modena racetrack, on 13th April, under a light drizzle and the occasional engine roar, the real stars were the excitement and the joy of being together. You could feel it in the paddocks, under the tents, and in the laughter of the Malossers who came out to see us. Rain or shine, every time we gather, it’s always a celebration.

See you at the Miscela Day on 6th July in Racalmuto, let’s go there with sunshine inside us even if it rains.
