The sky was grey, the asphalt was soaked and visors were fogged up. Lo and behold, there was even a hailstorm!
Yet despite all this, at the Autodromo dell’Umbria in Magione, the Trofei Malossi show went on, with the roar of engines tearing through the clouds.
On Sunday, 19th May, the 2nd round of the national Malossi competitions took place, two-wheel races that have been thrilling motorsport fans for decades.
You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy the day. All you need to know is that on the track there were young talented and budding riders, from all over Italy, ready to give their all, curve after curve. Among rain, overtakes, and surprises, it was impossible not to feel the adrenaline.
The Malossi Trophies, according to Malossi
Is the Trofei Malossi event a championship?
Technically not, it’s the Trofei, and calling this event a “championship” doesn’t quite cut it.
For us, it’s much more than a series of summer races. These are moments of growth, learning and pushing your limits, building friendships and becoming increasingly better on and off the track.
It’s a trial ground for riders, a test lab for mechanics, a training space for teams and technicians.
Here, riders of all ages – some in their debut season, others with more experience under their belts – put themselves to the test, race after race, under the watchful eyes of coaches, mechanics, fans, and family members.
It’s a true open-air gym, consisting of early-morning briefings, engines to fine-tune, mistakes to learn from, and corners to take with your breath held.

The Trofei is a core part of who we are, not a side initiative, but a project that, for 38 years, has brought our two-wheeled vision to life: it’s accessible, merit-based, and growth-driven.
It allows everyone to experience their passion in a safe, real, and physical way, pulling young people away from screens and into the kind of emotions that can only be lived firsthand.
Since we truly care about every single person donning a helmet.
And we want to build something that goes beyond rankings: an experience, a community, a memory to hold onto even once the engine’s been switched off.
And – most importantly – these races aren’t won by talent alone.
They’re won through commitment, teamwork, the ability to listen, and the drive to improve. Because here, even if winning feels great, it’s not just the winner who comes out on top.
A growth beyond racing
We’re nearly halfway through the 38th edition of the Trofei Malossi, and on 19th May in Magione, these were the headline categories:
- Trofeo Nazionale Scooter Velocità, currently dominated by Vincenzo Sciacca and Francesco Buscema
- Malossi Racing Academy, the “school-style” format for rising talents, led by Valentino Corsi
- Trofeo ScooterMatic – Southern Division, where once again Sciacca and Buscema were key contenders
- Trofeo ScooterMatic – Regional Division, won by Fabio Quattroventi

But don’t get too comfortable: those currently leading the podium are far from safe.
At this stage of the Trofei, anything can still happen.
Next stop: Binetto
The Magione round tested everyone: riders, coaches, mechanics and the nerves of every single spectator. It was, as always, a race against time made even more uncertain by the unpredictable weather. Rain tires or slicks? Push hard in the corner or wait for a clean opening?

This round tested the riders’ cold blood and hunger to win. While some came out of it all black and blue, they also came out wiser. Nothing has been lost yet.
The next round is set for 21st-22nd June to be held at the Autodromo del Levante in Binetto: the final event of the Southern Division and the third round of the National Trofei.
Who will finish the job? Who will stand on the podium?
There’s no time for predictions to be made yet. The ending is still unwritten.
